Untrue is the second studio album by British electronic music producer Burial. Untrue builds on the general atmosphere of his debut album Burial (2006), marking a development in Burial's sound through its more prominent usage of pitch-shifted and time-stretched vocal samples.

Untrue is a slightly old-fashioned way of describing someone-a lover, usually-who’s unfaithful. It could also be a simple assertion that something is a lie. But you might also say that untruth is a quintessential attribute of music itself. An inspired track or album title lightly guides the listener through the abstract sensations and emotions stirred up by the music. Burial is a maestro of titles. Some are jarringly concrete ( Dog Shelter, In McDonalds ), others are enigmatic ( Etched Headplate ), or poetic ( Shell of Light ).

Burial, the self-titled debut album by an anonymous dubstep producer from London, proved one of the more surprising success stories of 2006. It was voted Album of the Year by the influential nic magazine The Wire and was fawned over by a long list of other media, from Mixmag to Pitchfork. Upon the release of Untrue, the second Burial album, the cycle of acclaim appeared likely to repeat itself.

We’ve taken risks in songwriting and production; this album is a reminder to ourselves that change and growth are good things. It’s tough to say so early, but I think ‘Worlds Apart‘ is an album that will be in your stereo for quite some time.
