Until recently, JAY-Z and Beyoncé had made careers of being astoundingly larger than life-cults of personalities we, in fact, knew very little about. He carefully crafted a narrative of d-corporate-CEO while guarding the intimate secrets of those closest to him; she was a perfectly manicured pop star who built an empire on turning the vagaries of life into empowerment anthems. Lemonade and 4:44 were watershed moments because they offered a glimpse of the more vulnerable traits of the mystical artists behind them.
Beyoncé is back with another world-stopping surprise album - and this time she brought her husband, Jay-Z, along for the ride. With no advance warning or promotion beyond their ability to grab international headlines with every move, popular culture’s first couple - billed here as The Carters - released its long-rumored and teased collaborative album on Saturday evening following a concert in London. In what has become something of a familiar ritual, the sudden release immediately sent fans and the industry into a tizzy. Surprise! pi. witter. BEYONCÉ LEGION (egion) June.
Jay-Z and Beyonce complete their trilogy of albums with a powerful celebration of love, family and legacy. Everything Is Love' was released in the second week of Beyoncé and Jay-Z's On the Run II Tour, and the album realizes the power in learning from failings. Beyoncé and Jay-Z have closely guarded the particulars of their private lives for years.
Mary J. Blige has made it clear in virtually all of her TV appearances and interviews surrounding her sixth studio album that she's happy with the way things have been going for her, both personally and professionally. The down side is that you can tell that her heart isn't as into the songs that deal with the nastier aspects of relationships.
