Circle was formed in 1992 by bassist and singer Jussi Lehtisalo, the only member who has been in the band throughout its career. A trio of albums, Andexelt (1999), Prospekt (2000), and Taantumus (2001), brought them international attention. In 2011 Circle/Pharaoh Overlord were at Dutch rock festival Roadburn Festival Discography.
Circle’s Terminal album is an adventure into strange territory powered by 40 minutes of super eclectic and fun tunes. The name of the Finnish band could not be more apt, because they’ve been doing full laps around all the evolutions of rock music over 30 albums now. Terminal is a nexus that provides a little something for everybody. Although they’re eclectic, Circle does not lose the sense of rock’s roots, and that’s something I enjoy. There are moments of raw explosive punk energy that implode into otherworldly bedtime lullabies, unpeeling layers of aggression that reveal a transcendental bliss. The album is a remarkable example of rock & roll creativity.

A Swedish journalist recently declared Circle the greatest rock ‘n’ roll band in the world after witnessing a particularly intense performance. Listening to Terminal, it's difficult to find any reasonable grounds to disagree. Genre-defying Finnish rockers Circle now sound as colossal on record as on stage. By Janne Oinonen, 21 June 2017, 17:59 BST. Terminal. 8. Release date: 23 June 2017. In the run-up to the release of Terminal, Jussi Lehtisalo - bassist and sole remnant from the line-up that released recently reissued debut Meronia in 1991 - described what we could expect. It’s approachable, solid Circle.
