Music Time" is the sole studio track released on the live Styx album, Caught in the Act. It peaked at number 40 on the . Billboard Hot 100 chart. When the concert was released on DVD, the video for this song was included. The video features singer/songwriter Dennis DeYoung in various costumes (including a classic hobo look, and a fast food uniform), singing and acting out the lyrics.

Styx is the self-titled debut album by American rock band Styx. It was released in 1972. The band started as a cover band who played events such as weddings and birthday parties. They called themselves "The Tradewinds" in 1961, when the band was composed of, at 12 years of age, Chuck and John Panozzo, who played bass guitar and drums, respectively, and their neighbor, 14-year-old Dennis DeYoung on keyboards, accordion and vocals.

Styx is an American rock band from Chicago that formed in 1972 and became famous for its albums released in the late 1970s and early 1980s. The band established itself with a progressive rock sound in the 1970s, and began to incorporate pop rock and soft rock elements in the 1980s

But by the time the 'Music Time' single and video were released, Styx wasn't a band anymore; Shaw, DeYoung, and guitarist James "JY" Young all splintered off into solo careers, and the group would remain on hiatus until 1990, when they reformed without Shaw for the 'Edge of the Century' album. Music Time' remains the final Top 40 single recorded by the classic Styx lineup - and its most embarrassing video. Next Hilariously Outdated Video: Journey.
