Their first album was the self-titled Angel (1975) and consisted of guitarist Punky Meadows, bassist Mickie Jones, vocalist Frank DiMino, keyboardist Gregg Giuffria, and drummer Barry Brandt. This lineup would hold for the following two albums, Helluva Band (1976) and On Earth as It Is in Heaven (1977), after which Jones would be replaced by Felix Robinson. The former members of Angel went on to other things following the release of their live album. Lead vocalist Frank DiMino joined UFO guitarist Paul Raymond in the Paul Raymond Project in which he sang lead vocals.

Live Without a Net is the first live album and the sixth in total by the rock band Angel. It was the band's last album before breaking up in 1981. The band had hoped that the album would bring them commercial success, like the album Alive! did for Kiss, but it did not, leading to Angel's break up a year later. Live Without a Net (1980). Angel: Live in Sweden featuring keyboardist Gordon . Can You Feel It (1989).

Without a Net is a recording of the Grateful Dead in concert. It compiles performances from October 1989 to April 1990, and was released in September 1990. The album simulates the progression of an actual Grateful Dead concert and was certified Gold by the RIAA in November 1990.

Released in 1990, Without a Net was the first official Grateful Dead live album to benefit from the compact disc's expanded time capacities. Issued as a two-CD/three-LP collection, it captures the Dead in fine form between October 1989 and April 1990, as the band played arenas in Virginia, New Jersey, California, Ontario, and Long Island. The album was dedicated in code to Brent Mydland, the band's keyboardist who had died of a drug overdose during the album's assembly

Live Without a net. Angel. Onto the debut -Angel. I'll give this another listen but aside from Tower (which isn't quite as amazing as others will lead you to believe), it's not nearly as memorable, creative, hard rocking and hooky as Helluva Band on the whole. I challenge Angel to get back together and do it for the fans (not to mention themselves - what else are you doing that would be as much fun?) who want them back to challenge other bands their age still delivering the goods on stage and on the road.
