Profile: Blues man from UK, nominated in The British Blues Awards 2013 for Best Original Song. Joys Of Spring (Album).
London-based John Fairhurst makes heavy blues for heavy times. In equal parts revealing, vulgar, cathartic and thrilling, the virtuoso guitarist is channelling the discontent felt in the western world to pay tribute to – and to update – the very idea of rock n roll as protest music. And he’s not here to mince his words on his first album in 6 years, ’The Divided Kingdom’. Personal greed has far outstripped the need to support the health of society. Fairhurst – hailed by Acoustic Guitar Magazine USA as one of the Top 3 Resonator guitar players worldwide – and Murray recorded ‘The Divided Kingdom’ in part in their own studio, That Sound Studio, which was built in 2018 by the pair, their friend Pawel Lach and a multinational group of friends. This freedom to create at their own pace empowered Fairhurst and Murray to dig deeply into themselves and soon a theme for the album started to emerge.
Whether performing solo, armed with his battered national resophonic guitar, tearing it up with his explosive three-piece electric outfit, Fairhurst and his band are becoming widely recognised as one of the most versatile, dynamic and powerful music acts around. She appeared on his album ‘My Songs, My Friends’ (2013) this collaboration developed into a nationwide tour and release of their album ‘Baker Rose’ (2016). Clara Rose and her band are set to rock the Harvest Time Blues Festival once again this year, it is a good feeling to ‘come home’ and always a highlight on the gig calendar!

List of all John Fairhurst tickets and tour dates for 2019. With the release of the Saltwater album Fairhurst added driving rocking guitar breaks to his Captain Beefheart vocals and Jimmy Page guitars. Now touring his Divided Kingdom album this promises to keep the incredible guitar flamboyance, the driving pulse and push of his swamp blues rhythms, and just blows most other performers away. The people who have discovered his incredible live act - seen the passion and the power of the man - can’t get enough. The shame is that the audience isn’t cramming the venue to the rafters! This man and his tight talented band need to be better known
