David Bowie is the self-titled debut studio album by English musician David Bowie, released on 1 June 1967, on Deram Records. Its style and content bears little overt resemblance to the type of music that he was later known for, such as the folk rock influenced "Space Oddity" or the glam rock of The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars.
By 1975, David Bowie had been driven to the brink of madness. A bad drugs habit, overwork, and the requirements of fans, critics, and not least himself, to regularly come up with new and challenging material, all contributed to his current state of mind and body. So in the latter months of that year, Bowie left . and set up camp in a rundown Berlin apartment. His buddy Iggy Pop - similarly on the cusp of insanity - ominously joined David. While there, Bowie created a quite astonishing triumvirate of albums under his own name, and a further two with Iggy
The only other artist that hit me this hard was Joe Strummer. Bowie was my very first rock star crush and the first album I ever bought was Hunky Dory. I was in 4th grade, 1982. I have been in love with him and his music ever since.
David Bowie‘s Berlin Trilogy and other albums from that era will be the focus of the late singer’s upcoming collection A New Career in a New Town, a massive 11-CD box set that spans Bowie’s catalog from 1977 to 1982. A New Career in a New Town, named after the Low composition, will also feature the Re:Call 3 compilation, which collects Bowie’s single versions, soundtrack contributions, extended versions, B-sides and more, including his five-song recording of Bertolt Brecht’s Baal, Under Pressure with Queen and his Peace on Earth/Little Drummer Boy recording with Bing Crosby.

Perhaps oddly, David Bowie's hit-and-miss 1990s output is collected and re-released as a box set with each album expanded to double-disc sets containing a mostly negligible collection of catalog detritus. The problem is that by and large his output has been just good enough.
DAVID BOWIE ALWAYS HAD a problem with Lodger. But during the spring of 2015, between work on Bowie’s final album, Blackstar, Visconti revived a long-cherished project to revitalise the oft-underestimated last instalment of The Berlin Trilogy (actually recorded in what Visconti describes as the very unsexy Montreux, Switzerland). The producer’s efforts have been rewarded with star billing in the new multi-disc box set David Bowie: A New Career In A New Town and, more importantly his late employer’s own delight and approval. As soon as David heard the tom fills at the start of Fantastic Voyage, says Visconti, a big smile.
Heroes" is the 12th studio album by English musician David Bowie, released on RCA Records on 14 October 1977. Of the three albums, it was the only one wholly recorded in Berlin.
