Live at Donington is a live album by the English heavy metal band Iron Maiden, documenting their second headlining appearance at the Monsters of Rock festival at Donington Park, a motorsport circuit located near Castle Donington. Iron Maiden are an English heavy metal band formed by bassist Steve Harris in 1975. The band's first album, 1980's Iron Maiden, was written primarily by Harris, with vocalist Paul Di'Anno co-writing two tracks and guitarist Dave Murray contributing "Charlotte the Harlot".

The title seems to be a reference to the 1976 movie starring Malcolm McDowell. However, the song is about the 1940 Battle of Britain in which the British RAF fought the German Luftwaffe by air combat exclusively  . As I read the lyrics, I’m sensing a definite card game metaphor, aces high being a poker term. In this interpretation, of course, the action of getting on a plane for the purpose of combat is associated with the risk of high-stake gambling. ace. Live After Death might just be Iron Maiden's definitive live album. I would even go as far as to say that it is possibly the greatest live album of all time. Also, this rendition of their title song might just be the band's all-time greatest track. The classics when they were still fresh, maybe my all-time favourite album. Maiden England' is a great companion too, covering the next two albums and a few older cuts not found on here, with surprisingly little overlap. After that, the live albums start to get repetitive. HD Iron Maiden Album Art 1980-2015. It's believed that this concept was inspired by a 1960's comic book cover of Sergeant Rock. Iron Maiden decided to ditch the illustrations and instead gave us this version of Eddie undergoing a lobotomy. This is also the debut of their replacement vocalist: Blaze Bayley. html Unpopular Opinion - I thought this album was alright.

We shall go on to the end We shall fight in France We shall fightover the seas and oceans. Run Live to fly, fly to live, do or die Won't you Run, live to fly, fly to live Aces high. Move in to fire at the mainstream of bombers Let off a sharp burst and then turn away Roll over, spin round to come in behind them Move to their blindsides and firing again. Bandits at 8 o'clock are moving behind us Ten ME-109's out of the sun Ascending and turning, our spitfires to face them Heading straight for them I press down my guns. Rolling, turning, diving Rolling, turning, diving Going in again Rolling, turning, diving Rolling, turning, diving
