Complete your Bartók, Janáček - Orpheus Chamber Orchestra collection. Divertimento, Sz 113, For String Orchestra. I. Allegro Non Troppo.

The Romanian folk dances (here in the arrangement for salon orchestra) are perfect, on the other hand. Janacek's Mladi (for wind ensemble) receives a somewhat introvert reading; the textures are finely nuanced and delicately shaded and overall the players are more successful at realizing the general spirit and freshness here than in the Bartók. The sound quality is very good, and despite some hesitations over the Bartók this disc deserves a relatively firm recommendation.

Béla Bartók: Divertimento · Romanian Folk Dances, Leoš Janáček: Mládí.

Animated Energetic Cheerful Quirky. Bartók: Divertimento; Romanian Folk Dances; Stravinsky: Pulcinella Suite; Dumbarton Oaks. 4. Romanian Folk Dances (7) (Román népi táncok), for orchestra, Sz. Concerto for chamber orchestra in E flat major ("Dumbarton Oaks"). Pulcinella, suite for orchestra.

Orpheus Chamber Orchestra. Leoš Janáček (Czech pronunciation:, baptised Leo Eugen Janáček; 3 July 1854 – 12 August 1928) was a Czech composer, musical theorist, folklorist, publicist and teacher. He was inspired by Moravian and other Slavic folk music to create an original, modern musical style.

Romanian Folk Dances (Hungarian: Román népi táncok), Sz. 56, BB 68 is a suite of six short piano pieces composed by Béla Bartók in 1915. He later orchestrated it for small ensemble in 1917 as Sz. It is based on seven Romanian tunes from Transylvania, originally played on fiddle or shepherd's flute.
