Darryl Pittman, better known by his stage name DR Period (alternatively stylised as . Period or D/R Period), is an American record producer, DJ and rapper from Brooklyn, New York. He began his career as a producer for . producing nearly the entirety of the duo's 1994 debut album To the Death. He would go on to produce for a variety of East Coast hip hop artists during the late 1990s, such as AZ, Onyx, Public Enemy, Shyheim, Smoothe da Hustler and Flatlinerz.
