Silent Cicada is an alias of Nick Shutter, perhaps best known for his reworked versions of songs from KIKIYAMA's video game Yume Nikki. While he released large amounts of music under this alias from 2011 to 2015, he now operates primarily as Nick Shutter and reserves the name Silent Cicada for visual arts. His first releases as Silent Cicada were primarily dark ambient with heavy electronic influences, though he later began to make harsh noise and drone as well.
