The Philles Album Collection brings together six pivotal albums from Phil Spector s groundbreaking label. Each remastered mono album is presented in its entirety for the first time on CD. Packaged in mini-vinyl replica sleeves and housed in a deluxe box, these classic 60 s albums showcase the labels legendary sound.

Phil Spector is known for a great many things but he is not known as an album artist. Yes, there is the great ‘70s exception: during the golden age of the album, he produced George Harrison, John Lennon, Leonard Cohen, and the Ramones - but he received these gigs on the strength of his early-‘60s productions, his jewel-like hits for the Crystals, the Ronettes, and the Righteous Brothers, among others. Repetition makes The Philles Album Collection a tedious listen as a box set, but the real disappointment is the realization how Spector poured all of his efforts into the singles and then tossed off everything else; they shine brighter as songs and records than everything else here, so no wonder they were repurposed over and over again.

A Christmas Gift for You from Phil Spector (originally released as A Christmas Gift for You from Philles Records) is an album of Christmas songs, produced by Phil Spector, and originally released as Philles 45 in 1963. Spector treated a series of mostly secular Christmas standards to his "Wall of Sound" treatment, and the selections feature the vocal performances of Spector's regular artists during this period.

Forget the psycho with the crazy wigs - this is a welcome reminder of how the young Spector found his wall of sound and, with the finest Brill Building songwriting talent, kick-started the golden age of girl groups. The completist boxed set includes the first six albums on his Philles label, from 1962-64, plus a disc of instrumental B-sides. You’ll recognise the Ronettes’ Be My Baby, but if it’s been a while since you last heard He Hit Me (It Felt Like a Kiss) and the rest of the Crystals’ joyous, poignant, soda-shop pop, you’re in for a treat.

The development of Phil Spector’s magnificent Wall Of Sound productions, Tomorrow’s Sound Today, is given its most expansive display ever on the new box set, PHIL SPECTOR PRESENTS THE PHILLES ALBUM COLLECTION. In a continuing celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Philles Records label (1961-2011), this new box set supersedes all previous collections in its scope. The Best Part Of) Breakin’ Up, Be My Baby, Baby, I Love You, and more); and. PHIL’S FLIPSIDES by The Phil Spector Wall of Sound Orchestra. Adding to the historical importance of this new box set, is the fact that some of these six original Philles album reproductions have never been officially reissued in their entirety in the CD era.

Album · 2010 · 59 Songs. To hear the genius of Spector, simply listen to his productions. This 59-song wall-of-sound collection wraps up the absolute best work Spector did for the Philles label in the early '60s. It opens with The Crystals’ rocking, string-scorched single Oh Yeah, Maybe Baby and its flipside, There’s No Other Like My Baby
