Gentle Giant is the first album by British progressive rock band Gentle Giant, released in 1970. It first appeared in the United States and Canada with the same cover as the Three Friends album. American hip-hop duo Madvillain sampled "Funny Ways" on "Strange Ways" from their album Madvillainy, which was subsequently featured in an episode of the television show The Boondocks.

The style of Gentle Giant is hinted at on the album’s iconic cover; the face-centric art recalls In the Court of the Crimson King (from the year before) but while the King Crimson debut’s visage was contorted and expressionistic, the ‘gentle giant’ seen here is heart-warming and friendly. It’s not unimaginable that he’d probably want to invite you in for mead and venison if your paths crossed. Civilian is arguably the most grounded and ‘professional’ of the three pop Gentle Giant albums. It’s also, by turns, the most tedious and uneventful.

The knotter. Without the legendary knotter, the story of CLAAS would probably have taken a very different course. But what exactly is a knotter? Company history. Join us on an exciting journey through the history of agricultural technology in the CLAAS company museum.
