Mull Historical Society - Us flac album

Loss is the debut album of Scottish indie pop band Mull Historical Society. The album reached number 43 in the UK album chart. It was inspired by the sudden death of his father in 1999 and his upbringing on the Isle of Mull. It contains samples from a Caledonian MacBrayne ferry and the waves on Calgary Bay in Mull.

His 2012 Mull Historical Society album, ‘City Awakenings’, was released on Xtra Mile Recordings. Produced by the Grammy-winning Dom Morley (Amy Winehouse, Mark Ronson, Grinderman), it is his tribute to Glasgow, London and New York – the 3 cities that have most influenced this islander abroad.

One of them is Mull Historical Society, which debuted in 2001 with the album Loss. The cd was well received by both critics and audiences and sold more than 70,000 copies in Britain. is really only Colin MacIntyre, submitted by the largely populated by sheep Island of Mull. MacIntyre writes and produces everything itself and also plays most of the instruments. The songs are, however, just like on the predecessor often arranged so rich that he regularly need the help of guest musicians, including on cello, flute and harp.

Though Mull Historical Society is an act one could easily file under "pleasant-enough pop," at 13 tracks (plus a bonus disc!), MacIntyre's strictly 80bpm velvet-lined melancholia will test the patience of any Anglophile. My dislike of Daniel Bejar might be some volatile mixture of irrationality, priggishness, and psychosis, but one thing it's not is unfair, and McIntyre is not quite up to the level of ruining New Pornographers albums.

Mull Historical Society is the pseudonym for Colin MacIntyre, a Scottish singer, song-writer, t, producer and (as yet) unpublished author. His first three and latest albums have been released under the band name 'Mull Historical Society', even though the band consists of Colin alone. His fourth and fifth albums, 'The Water' and 'Island', were released under his own name.
