Taking Back Sunday had something to prove; although their last album was generally well received, the criticism still piled up. Enter 2006, and a want to make a studio album that reflected their live energy more than the previous albums had. Louder Now is a much, much bigger rush than the previous two albums, with lots of unrestrained energy being showed. Louder Now could possibly be Taking Back Sunday’s best album. It’s a very tough runoff with Tell All Your Friends, and it was extremely nice to see them return to that style as compared to the more bland stylings of Where You Want To Be. My recommendation" Pick Tell All Your Friends up first.
Even though the DVD goes like a bonus to the band's new album, it is almost a proper DVD worth to be an individual release, not an addition. It has everything a real DVD should have - a concert, introduction of the band and the crew, backstage footage and on-road stories, music videos ( Liar (It Takes One To Know One) and MakeDamnSure ). Almost stands for a short concert though - it doesn't even reach the 20-minute barrier.
Three albums in, they are now pretty much experts at re-creating their own sound, so much so that they can essentially make the same album repeatedly - but you know, different - yet still manage to rock hard enough underneath verbose lyrics that even those who notice the unabashed similarities to past releases just won't care.
