Surround yourself with very smart people who are a little bit arrogant and disagree with you on many things. Make sure to debate ideas with them, in a civil way, which will cause you to re-examine your beliefs. Decide on a few challenges (and their triggers) for yourself designed to push you outside of your comfort zone in areas you want to develop. When you push yourself hard, you have to make sure you’re doing it for the right reasons. I haven’t been doing that. I’ve been doing plenty of pushing. Hard, relentless pushing. Arms locked out at the bottom of each pull-up, chin over bar at the top; chest to floor for the push-ups, hands touching floor behind head and in front of toes for sit-ups, and hip crease below knee for the squats. His pull-up record is 84 reps. I'm sure most of us could bang out 100 push-ups at a push (hah!), but it would be a real grind, and very hard to maintain form, and above all, pretty pointless. the idea that you can go from zero to 100 in the space of 6 weeks is really absurd in my view.
