Something for Nothing (album). Something for Nothing is the debut album by French rock band Chunk! No, Captain Chunk!. It was released on November 1, 2010. After the internet success of their self-titled EP, the band opted to record a studio album, re-recording the song "MILF" from the EP. A 5-song sampler of the album was released for free download on various internet sites in May 2010.
So is nothing a thing, or a placeholder? I have no idea: but it seems as if a place for it emerges whenever we look closely at things. Is that what we mean when we say God created everything, from Nothing? Has Nothing always existed? Taoism teaches that Nothing is useful, as a window is a Nothing that lets light in, as the Nothing in a cup allows it to hold tea. If Nothing is useful, must it exist for there to be something? Is Nothing the luminous void of which Buddhism speaks?
Mean Everything to Nothing is the second studio album by the Atlanta-based indie rock band Manchester Orchestra. Prior to the album's release, AbsolutePunk premiered a video of "The Only One", while Spin premiered another one, for "Shake It Out", on March 24, 2009. A third video, for lead single "I've Got Friends", was released on April 7.
If this thing is done done done and I can start writing words and music on it, great, but I’ve had instances where I’ve started to write stuff, and by the time I actually got it around and back and actually listening and whatever, the song had gone in a completely different direction. So everything that was written melody-wise or lyric-wise was completely irrelevant now, and I have to start over. I mean, I can sit there in that room, and be with them in that room, but their process is so tedious and so ‘Rain Man,’ that I just can’t, I just start fucking folding in on myself. But it’s a great thing, what they’re doing is wonderful – I completely back what they’re doing. There’s no other way for them to do it. For me, I can move much more quickly if you will let me help you. I’ve written a few songs, in fact, I was involved in many of them, the ones that we’ve done, so we can do that. But I think this is what they need to do.

The Album About Nothing begins by holding a mirror to Wale’s past, which reflects some of the trappings of his more-famous present. The intro is informed by go-go, . s signature reworking of funk, and a sound he used frequently early in his career. Nothing is a long album, with one cut coming in over the six-minute mark, and when it is sludgy, it is exhausting. The most unfortunate moment is "The One Time in Houston", an amateurish attempt at the city’s signature syrupy screw sound. The Girls on Drugs" cleverly samples Janet Jackson’s house party celebration "Go Deep", but isn’t packed with enough of Wale’s dour thoughts to sound like he’s doing anything more than cribbing Drake’s If You’re Reading This, It’s Too Late flow.
