DAS:VASSER" means "the water" in German (though slightly misspelled, as it should be "Wasser"), a name that wasn't chosen unintentionally, as Kyouhei explained once. Just like water -always changing its shape, always in motion- the band has been developing both visually and musically further and further, thus creating their very own style.

DAS:VASSER was a visual kei band formed by vocalist 秀暁 and bassist 秀暁 in Osaka in Summer 1997. By the end of the year guitarists 一狼. 敦史 and drummer 修鈴 joined and DAS:VASSER officially started activities in January 1998. In July they signed to the indie label Matina, but some time later 敦史 left. 鈴 was kicked out the band in September 1999 and was replaced by 太楼 in November. DAS:VASSER left Matina in January 2001 and started to self-produce their releases, but on May 1st both 一狼 and 太楼 left
