Petra is the first studio album by the Christian rock band of the same name. It was released in 1974. The band's debut is more raw than later Petra albums, lacking the refined production values of future releases.

The album features 10 new acoustic rearrangements of classic Petra songs. It also features two new songs ("Breathe In" and "The Longing"). The song "Breathe In" is sung by guitarist Pete Orta Contents.

Petra's self-titled debut album, originally released in 1974 on Myrrh, a division of Word, In. on LP, 8-track and cassette. The LP was originally issued with a green label, and reissued in 1975 with an orange label. When parent label Word struck a distribution deal with A&M Records in 1985 the album was reissued for the mainstream market on LP and cassette. Only in 1995 was it released on CD, in the Christian market by Word and in the mainstream market by Epic (also on cassette). I have this CD however the track listing is incorrect on mine. It goes 6-7-8-1-9-2-3-1-5.
