Paranoid is the second studio album by the English rock band Black Sabbath. Released in September 1970, it was the band's only LP to top the UK Albums Chart until the release of 13 in 2013. Paranoid contains several of the band's signature songs, including "Iron Man", "War Pigs" and the title track, which was the band's only Top 20 hit, reaching number 4 in the UK charts. It is often cited as an influential album in the development of heavy metal music.

Six months after releasing Black Sabbath, they issued the song as Black Sabbath’s second single and demanded that the album’s title be changed from War Pigs to Paranoid. They wanted to remind potential customers of the song they’d seen four long-haired weirdos headbang to on Top of the Pops while avoiding the nasty business of saying something controversial in an era already fraught with civil unrest. But in the sprint to get the record into stores, Vertigo never bothered to commission an image that fit the new name. Propelled by its lead single, Paranoid was the only Black Sabbath album to top the British charts for the next four decades. where it nearly broke into the Top 10 mere months after the band’s small stateside debut, it has gone platinum four times.

Black Sabbath - Paranoid. This is the node product page full template. Pop Rock 70s Music Metal. Paranoid is the second studio album by English metal band Black Sabbath. Originally released in September 1970, it was the band's only LP to top the UK Albums Chart until the release of 13 in 2013. It is often regarded as one of the most quintessential and influential albums in heavy metal history.

Black Sabbath bassist Geezer Butler, who wrote the lyric, explained the song's meaning to Mojo magazine June 2013: "Basically, it's just about depression, because I didn't really know the difference between depression and paranoia. It's a drug thing; when you're smoking a joint you get totally paranoid about people, you can't relate to people. There's that crossover between the paranoia you get when you're smoking dope and the depression afterwards. Paranoid" was much more successful. It was released six months after their self-titled first album and had a huge impact in their native UK, going to and becoming one of their signature songs. The group never charted again in the UK Top 10, but that wasn't a problem since album and ticket sales more than made up for it. Many UK rock bands, including Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd, put little emphasis on singles.

Paranoid" was the first Black Sabbath single release, coming six months after their debut album was released. Black Sabbath bassist Geezer Butler (from Guitar World magazine, March 2004): A lot of the "Paranoid" album was written around the time of our first album, Black Sabbath. We recorded the whole thing in about 2 or 3 days, live in the studio. The song "Paranoid" was written as an afterthought. We basically needed a 3 minute filler for the album, and Tony came up with the riff Parano.

Black Sabbath : Paranoid,альбом, рецезия, трек-лист, mp3, тексты песен. What can I say about Paranoid that hasn't been said over and over by so many before me? It's a great album, possibly the best album made by Black Sabbath of the original line-up. I can honestly say that I've enjoyed listening to every single track and continue to enjoy this classic metal piece. It is Black Sabbath at its finest. Musically, Black Sabbath had definitely evolved somewhat from their title album. The production quality is a little lacking, but that's to be expected from 70s music.

The song Paranoid was the last one written for the album, and was intended as a filler song. Only took about 25 minutes to write the whole thing. The album’s first recording session was June 1970. Paranoid was the first Black Sabbath album I bought on January 1, 1995 along with Metallica’s Black Album. I heard Headless Cross first which was given to my brother from a friend in 1993 then Live At Last in early 1994 then I got We Sold Our Souls For Rock and Roll as a Christmas present later in 1994. I couldn’t get into Planet Caravan at first because I thought it was too strange but I later got into it in time. I also loved Hand of Doom and Rat Salad.
