Society of Composers, Inc. is an American professional society dedicated to the dissemination of new and contemporary music. SCI was founded in 1965 as the American Society of University Composers (ASUC) and today it consists of almost 1500 members. The mission of the original organization was to further the cause of contemporary music in the USA by providing opportunities to perform, record, and publish ASUC members' works.
