Philip Edward Thomas (3 March 1878 – 9 April 1917) was a British poet, essayist, and novelist. He is commonly considered a war poet, although few of his poems deal directly with his war experiences, and his career in poetry only came after he had already been a successful writer and literary critic. In 1915, he enlisted in the British Army to fight in the First World War and was killed in action during the Battle of Arras in 1917, soon after he arrived in France.

In Concert is a live double album recorded by the Doors. The album's performances are culled from a variety of different concerts and releases. In Concert includes all the tracks from Absolutely Live (with all but one track appearing on disc one, with the remaining track on disc two) and Alive, She Cried. The three remaining tracks come from An American Prayer, Live at the Hollywood Bowl and one previously unreleased.

Tom Redmond presents a concert given by organist Thomas Trotter on the new organ by Kenneth Tickell at Manchester Cathedral. Tom Redmond presents a concert given by Thomas Trotter to mark the completion of Manchester Cathedral's new organ. This new organ, built by Kenneth Tickell, is designed with a mechanical key action and is mounted on the screen, as pre-war organs were. Thomas Trotter gives the first performance of a major new work on it, written specially for him by Francis Pott: 'La chiesa del sole - in memoriam John Scott'. The concert also includes one of the cornerstones of the organ repertoire, Reubke's Sonata on the 94th Psalm. In the form of a dramatic tone-poem for organ based upon the verses of Psalm 94, it's heavily influenced heavily by the Fantasia and Fugue on 'Ad nos, ad salutarem undam' of his composition teacher, Liszt.

Never miss another show from Edward Thomas.

Thomas was born of Welsh parents in London. His father was a railway clerk who neglected his six sons in favor of politics and intellectual pursuits. Temperamentally, Edward's father was the opposite of his son, and the two disagreed on nearly all matters, including Thomas's desire for a literary career. Much later Thomas was to portray this adversarial relationship with his father in the poem ".
