Kirkelig Kulturverksted. The Vahdat sisters were introduced for the Western world on the album Lullabies From The Axis Of Evil (KKV 2003), an attempt to fight prejudice and hostility – between people and between countries. Since 2003, the sisters, both together and separately, have released a number of records on Norwegian label Kirkelig Kulturverksted, produced by Erik Hillestad (whom also produced Placeless). Kirkelig Kulturverksted (KKV) is a Norwegian company and record label, founded in 1974 by Erik Hillestad Contents. 1. Sondre Bratland – Sondre Bratland is a Norwegian folk singer, song teacher and Government scholar. He has performed songs from Setesdal and Telemark, collected religious folk tunes and composed music to songs by poets as Olav H. Hauge. His album Pilegrimens Sangbog from 1982 earned him Spellemannprisen, the song style is referred to as kveding. His mother sang at home and his aunt Brita Bratland was a singer who recorded songs for Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation. While influenced by the local traditions, Bratland never studied it in his youth.

Norway’s oldest and most influential independent label, KKV (Kirkelig Kulturverksted) celebrates in 2014 its 40 years’ anniversary by releasing a compilation of highlights from its more than 5000 tracks of original recorded songs and compositions. This new physical playlist is called 40 years’ Credibility and consists of 4 CD’s with 12 tracks from each decade. KKV started as a typical product of the 70ties, with alternative strategies, a political approach to most of its activities and lots of experimental ideas. It holds Norway’s most interesting back-catalog. The new collection contains.
