降る朝 REPRISE -20th Version-. 49. かえりみち -20th Version
This is the version of the song recorded and released by ZABADAK (Tomohiko Kira) on the album Heikou Sekai, one year after the original was used for Spice and Wolf. You may recognize his voice as the backing male vocal in Natsumi Kiyoura’s version. While I ultimately prefer the original version with Kiyoura’s softer voice– it provided a tone of solemnity, and the decision to use a female vocalist for Spice and Wolf’s context was obviously fitting– there’s a lot about the choices in instrumental arrangement that I like about this version.
