Popol Vuh were a German musical collective founded by keyboardist Florian Fricke in 1969 together with Holger Trülzsch (percussion), Frank Fiedler (recording engineer) and Bettina Fricke (tablas and production). Other important members during the next two decades included Djong Yun, Renate Knaup, Conny Veit, Daniel Fichelscher, Klaus Wiese and Robert Eliscu.
Produced by Florian Fricke with Indian musicians All music by Popol Vuh Produced for Ohr Musik GmbH. It seems that only for commercial reasons and without their approvement it was released half-officially and labeled as Popol Vuh album. So it's Indian music and it's very beautiful and quite listenable even if you are newcomer for this genre. Reply Notify me Helpful.
Band Name Popol Vuh. Album Name Yoga.
Yoga is to be taken apart from the rest of Popol Vuh's discography. It would've been better released as a Florian Fricke solo album as it seems there are no other connections with Popol Vuh other than himself. This album is only Classical Indian Music, that was in Vogue by so many German proggers in the mid-70's. I think of Embryo who also made a few Indian-tingued albums but also one.
