The Piano Concerto No. 9 "Jenamy" (often incorrectly nicknamed "Jeunehomme") in E♭ major, K. 271, by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was written in Salzburg in 1777, when Mozart was 21 years old. Mozart completed the concerto in January 1777, nine months after his Piano Concerto No. 8 in C major and with few significant compositions in the intervening period. He composed the work for Victoire Jenamy, the daughter of Jean-Georges Noverre and a proficient pianist.

Ferruccio Busoni Wolfgang Amadeus MOZART (1759-1795) Piano Concerto N. 6 in D Major K537 Coronation (1788) Gina Bachauer (piano) New London Orchestra/Alec Sherman rec. 1949 and 1951 (Mozart and Liszt-Busoni), London APR 5643. Gina Bachauer (1910-76) enjoyed a successful career and there will be many who remember her concerts with admiration. The Fugue unfolds with serene control. The remainder of the programme sees her teamed with her husband, Alec Sherman, and the New London Orchestra, the band he had founded in 1941. Mozart’s Coronation Concerto receives a highly sympathetic reading, never straining for undue effect but never overlooking detail that gives lift and life to the music. Buoyancy of rhythm is one result and an ability to spin long phrases in the slow movement another. 26 in D major, K. 537, was written by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and completed on 24 February 1788. It is generally known as the Coronation Concerto. The concerto is scored for solo piano, one flute, 2 oboes, 2 bassoons, 2 horns, 2 trumpets, timpano (in D, A), and strings
The last five years of his life witnessed the composition of only two further piano concertos, the present work and the Piano Concerto No. 27 in B flat, K. 595, completed in January, 1791. At this time he might still have had plans for a new concerto for the Lenten season of that year, but significantly the work was not completed.
