Dislocation Dance - Rosemary. Album: Music Music Music, Slip That Disc! (Remastered), 1981. Manchester band Dislocation Dance appearing on Dutch TV 1982. Only three members of the band could make it for this TV appearance. Andy Diagram, Kathryn Way and Richard Harrison. Kathryn had only recently re-joined the band and didn't appear on the actual single so mimed to Andy's trumpet part with her saxophone! Ian Runacres and Paul Emmerson were the other two band members missing from the show.

Indiepop pioneers Dislocation Dance formed in Manchester in November 1978, when bassist-lyricist Paul Emmerson joined up with singer-guitarist Ian Runacres via the traditional route of a musicians wanted ad in the Virgin record store on Newton Street (then a scruffy indie retailer). Emmerson had been been inspired to form a band by his brother Simon Booth, who was then working with Scritti Politti and later formed Weekend. Despite this exposure, sales of the first album still struggled to exceed 3000, and for their next single, the samba-flavoured Rosemary, Dislocation Dance re-recruited photogenic singer and sax player Kathryn Way.

There are some fine dubs on this album but they are very artsy and quirky and full of unpredictable turns. The brass and string instruments harmoniously integrated in the melodies make the album especially rich'. It would talk about each track in turn providing the reader with a comprehensive analysis of each track.
