No Control is the fourth album by American punk rock band Bad Religion, released on November 2, 1989 through Epitaph Records. Bad Religion began work on the album while touring in support of its previous album, Suffer (1988). No Control is stylistically faster than its predecessor, owing more to hardcore punk. Additionally, it was the first Bad Religion album not to feature a lineup change from after one consecutive studio album.

I agree with Casar1973--this is Bad Religion at the absolute top of their game! Such an amazing album here. In fairness, I often refer to the period comprising the releases of Suffer, No Control, and Against the Grain as the best time segment in BR's discography, but again, No Control probably takes top prize for me among those three albums. And as Casar1973 says, the harmonic and lyrical aspects of this album are the real points of g ideas presented within a melodic (though still powerful) punk-rock setting. Genius material! 답글 나에게 알림 2 Helpful.

Bad Religion began work on the album while touring in support of its previous album, Suffer (1988). No Control brought Bad Religion a small amount of success in Southern California as the band started to gather a following. The album has sold over 60,000 copies and is often considered to be a landmark in hardcore punk

Bad Religion (at the time of this album): Vocals- Greg Graffin Lead Guitar- Mr Brett Rhythm Guitar- Greg Hetson Bass- Jay Bentley Drums- Pete Finestone. Change Of Ideas (0:55): The banging of the drums, begins this album, and the listener is thrown straight into the furious sound of Change Of Ideas. Clocking in at under a minute, many would wonder how this time frame could contain a song. This is answered, as the song contains all the makings of a good song, killer melodies, a good beat, and a great chorus. No Control (1:47): This song starts with the similar drum beat that all punk fans are used to, but changes during the verses. The chorus to this song contains some great vocal melodies that mix in well the guitars. Towards the end of the song, the song slows down to a drum roll, then straight after this bursts straight back into a chorus, and some great vocal melodies present themselves to the listener.

Album · 1989 · 15 Songs. 1989's No Control (remastered in 2004) is the zenith showcase for the watertight twin guitars of Brett Gurewitz (lead) and Greg Hetson, the yearning, melodic vocals of Greg Graffin, and the cynical lyrical exhortations they became known for. ("Don't be a henchman - stand on your laurels! Do what no one else does and praise the good of other me. ) The group's members have ebbed and flowed over the years, but this line-up (with Jay Bentley on bass and Pete Finestone on drums) was the epitome of a tight, focused, and impassioned Bad Religion.
