Sweet Baby James" is a song written and recorded by James Taylor that serves as the opening and title track from his 1970 breakthrough album Sweet Baby James. It was released as the first single from the album but did not chart. Nonetheless, it is one of his best-known and most popular tunes, considered a classic. Taylor considers it his best song. The song was written by Taylor for the son of his older brother Alex, who was also named James (and indeed was named after him).

There is a young cowboy, he lives on the range. His horse and his cattle are his only companions He works in the saddle and he sleeps in the canyons, waiting for summer, his pastures to change And as the moon rises he sits by his fire, thinking about women and glasses of beer And closing his eyes as the dogies retire, he sings out a song which is soft but it's

James Taylor is the self-titled debut studio album by American singer-songwriter James Taylor. Released on December 6, 1968, it was the first recording by a non-British artist released by Apple Records, and would also be Taylor's only release on that label. The album was released under the title First Album on the South African market. The album was produced by Peter Asher, who was A&R head for The Beatles' newly formed label Apple Records

Sweet Baby James As far back as I can remember, my mom hated James Taylor. She just absolutely could not stand him. So imagine my surprise at just how much I loved his debut album Sweet Baby James. I was immediately struck by the simple beauty, grace and tenderness found in the album. James' vocals are amazing in their simplicity while his gentle guitar playing creates some excellent, folksy atmosphere. And thanks to his talented songwriting every song sounds earnest and quite rooted in personal experience. On Sweet Baby James James Taylor clearly demonstrates not just his talent as a musician, but also as a poet. Every song contains a lyrical poetry that is very mesmerizing, with even his more simple tracks being entertaining and involving.

Sweet baby james VIN. 180 gram. James Taylor Format: Vinyl. James Taylor's best album for me was right here. I had been listening to some James Taylor on youtube and thought that I should at least have this one in my collection for so many great songs. The reason that there is a 4 star instead of a 5 star here is Warner Brothers Product, it was a real old CD pressing, like before mastering had been perfected and they basically just put the tape in a digital format to make it CD playable.
