Lagrene, who had switched from swing to fusion a few years earlier (and from acoustic guitar to electric), mostly roars throughout seven of his originals (plus Django Reinhardt's "Incertitude"), jamming with tenor saxophonist Bill Evans, keyboardist Clifford Carter, electric bassist Victor Bailey, percussionist Café and one of four drummers.
Biréli Lagrène (born 4 September 1966) is a French Manouche jazz guitar virtuoso who came to prominence in the 1980s for his Django style. He often performs in swing, jazz fusion and post-bop styles. Lagrène was born on 4 September 1966 in Saverne, Alsace, France, into a Romani family and community. His father and grandfather were guitarists, and he was raised in the gypsy guitar tradition.

I lost this album many years ago and wanted to pick up another, after a reminder of Manousch guitar playing.
