로필: French electronic pop band from Versailles (Yvelines, West suburb of Paris) formed in 1999. Thomas Croquet (aka Thomas Mars, vocals), Frederic Moulin (aka Deck D'Arcy, bass), and Christian Mazzalai (guitars) were the original trio who would become known as Phoenix. Mazzalai's older brother Laurent Mazzalai (aka Laurent Brancowitz aka Branco) joined the trio when his band broke up in 1995 (see Darlin'), and two years later they called themselves Phoenix. From this connection, Phoenix created their first French house track in 1999, "Heatwave. This was the precursor to their debut album, "United".

Phoenix Heatwave is made up of several creative, diverse, and very talented volunteers who not only contribute ideas, but countless hours to form a dance group with a very vital purpose – to inspire the art of dancing one performance at a time. A line dance group to the core, Phoenix Heatwave does not limit our dancers or dances to only country specific songs. Phoenix Heatwave is made up of several creative, diverse, and very talented volunteers who not only contribute ideas, but countless hours to form a dance group with a very vital purpose – to inspire the art of dancing one performance at a time.

Heatwave is an international funk/disco band formed in 1975. It is still current and playing UK dates (2019). Its most popular line-up featured Americans Johnnie Wilder Jr. and Keith Wilder (vocals) of Dayton, Ohio; Englishman Rod Temperton (keyboards); Swiss Mario Mantese (bass); Czechoslovak Ernest "Bilbo" Berger (drums); Jamaican Eric Johns (guitar); and Briton Roy Carter (guitar). They are known for their singles "Boogie Nights", "The Groove Line", and "Always and Forever".
