Pink Floyd were an English rock band formed in London in 1965. They achieved international acclaim with their progressive and psychedelic music. Distinguished by their philosophical lyrics, sonic experimentation, extended compositions, and elaborate live shows, they are one of the most commercially successful and influential groups in popular music history.

Discussing the new album with BBC 6 Music, Gilmour closed the door on any new Pink Floyd records, saying, "This is the last thing that'll be out from u. .I’m pretty certain that there will not be a follow-up to this. Gilmour's reasons for seeing an end to the band are simple: Keyboard player Rick Wright died in 2008, leaving Gilmour and drummer Nick Mason as the last Pinks standing. He described 'Endless River' as a tribute to Wright's keyboard skills, admitting, "I didn’t necessarily always give him his proper due. People have very different attitudes to the way they work and we can become very judgmental and think someone is not quite pulling his weight enough, without realizing that theirs is a different weight to pull.

Animals is the tenth studio album by English rock band Pink Floyd, released on 21 January 1977 through Harvest and Columbia Records. Your album by album guide to how Pink Floyd went from English eccentrics to the biggest progressive rock band of al. There have been four distinct phases in Pink Floyd’s career. The first was the Syd-Barrett-led band, which came together in late 1965 and lasted for just three singles and one album before Barrett fell apart at the end of 1967 and was forced to leave the band. And for some people, Pink Floyd ended at this point. Then there was the Pink Floyd that picked up the pieces and spent five years groping for a suitable direction, before ‘Dark Side Of The Moon’ went supernova and transformed their fortunes and replotted their future

David Gilmour's wife has revealed that Pink Floyd will release a new album this October. The Endless River is the group's first album since 1994's The Division Bell, and was reportedly inspired by the same recording sessions. In addition to announcing the album's title and release date, she referred to the record as "Rick Wright's swansong". But Gilmour gradually changed his mind, inviting McBroom-Hudson to record backup vocals last December and adding more singing since then. Gilmour has "done a lead on at least one," she said, and Samson, who co-wrote seven of The Division Bell's tracks, described herself on Twitter as one of The Endless River's lyricists. In addition to finishing Pink Floyd's 15th studio album, Gilmour is also allegedly still working on a new solo album.

When it comes to Pink Floyd and especially this album, you either get it or you don't. You may not understand what the big deal is about this album, and if so, that's fine, since it's your personal opinion. Speak To Me - Sets up the album perfectly with the cash register sounds from money, the laugh from Brain Damage and, of course, the heartbeat. Breathe (In The Air) - A calm and hypnotic track great lkap steel guitar and fantastic lyrics written by Waters and sung by Gilmour. I didn't care for it much when I first heard it, preferring DSotM and Animals, but now I absolutely love the album. Still love Animals and DSotM as much, if not more now, but Meddle has risen above the other albums faster than any other album I've grown to love.
