Brahms: Complete Chamber Music (Phillips). Brahms was, first and foremost, a composer of chamber music. While there are only about a dozen orchestral works in all, he composed three each of piano trios, piano quartets, string quartets, and violin sonatas; two each of cello sonatas, string quintets, and string sextets; and a host of other pieces such as the clarinet quintet, horn trio, and piano quintet.

Brahms: Complete Chamber Music. This extensive collection, often considered to be the finest offering of chamber music since that of Ludwig van Beethoven, comprises the complete chamber works of Johannes Brahms. Brahm's innovative tonality and expansive structures heralded an entirely new era of chamber music. Among many illustrious performers on this recording are the Brandis Quartet, Tokyo Quartet, and the Nash Ensemble, alongside a host of other stellar instrumentalists.

Johannes Brahms (1833-1897): Piano Quartet No. 1, Op. 25: 1. This album is the outcome of four musicians who decided to play all Brahm's chamber music in only a few months, and record it so that it exists an integral version of his repertoire, played by one ensemble only. Johannes Brahms (German: ; 7 May 1833 – 3 April 1897) was a German composer, pianist, and conductor of the Romantic period. Born in Hamburg into a Lutheran family, Brahms spent much of his professional life in Vienna, Austria.

He signed more than 20 chamber music pieces, ranging from sonatas for two instruments to the sextet. A diversity of forms confirmed by each of the proposed concerts. Even when he gives in to a certain conventionalism, the composer still knows how to breathe treasures of inventiveness into his absolute music of a resolutely personal inspiration. All through his life Brahms explored the infinite variations of a repertoire in which he has become a master. He signed more than 20 chamber music pieces, ranging from sonatas for two instruments to the sextet.
