Shards of a lost World wurde im Jahr 2011 von Anxietas gegründet, lag jedoch bis 2015 auf Eis. Im November 2015 wurde die erste Demo "Scherben" veröffentlicht. Dem folgte im Januar 2016 die SplitCD "Mystischer Hauch vergessener Welten" zusammen mit der Band Waldseel. Kurz darauf wurde die Band in die Bandgemeinschaft NEBELWELTEN aufgenommen, in welcher auch Waldseel, Asken etc. vertreten sind. Im Sommer wurde die EP Geisternebel veröffentlich und der erste Auftritt gespielt.
