Twin Peaks: Music from the Limited Event Series is a soundtrack album to the Twin Peaks revival series. It was released on September 8, 2017, by Rhino Entertainment. Throughout the series, many well-known recording artists would perform studio renditions of their songs at the fictional Bang Bang Bar tavern (commonly referred to as "the Roadhouse"). Several of the bands were handpicked by director David Lynch himself, including Nine Inch Nails, Sharon Van Etten, and Eddie Vedder
Of course much about Twin Peaks: The Return seems governed by the logic of a dream. Nightmares have always been David Lynch’s metier, and he and Mark Frost’s long-awaited 18-part revival series is thoroughly, obstinately phantasmagorical. But while the efforts of Special Agent Dale Cooper (Kyle MacLachlan) to shake off a quarter-decade slumber and thwart his nefarious doppelganger sometimes seemed fantastic, they still retained the shape and momentum of narrative television: However strange, there was a plot. Enjoyed in isolation-severed from the series on the soundtrack album Music from the Limited Event Series-the Roadhouse hit parade loses the interstitial quality it had parceled out one episode at a time. And yet the collection is peculiarly compelling.

Outstanding album comprised of a mix of songs performed by various musical artists at the Roadhouse Club, which was where the episodes frequently concluded during the 18 part limited run on Showtime. Highlights include Eddie Vedder, The Chromatics, James Marshall singing his song Just You And I from the original series as well as Julie Cruise performing The World Turns. If you loved the series and you want a selection of music from the series, this should be enough for most.

During the '90s, Twin Peaks was unlike anything else on television, and its evocative, bittersweet, impossibly stylish music was a huge part of its appeal. While trying to recapture the past is fruitless, Twin Peaks: Music from the Limited Event Series is a stunning update to one of pop culture's most distinctive works.
Music has always played a central role in Lynch’s work and it helped establish the haunting, dreamlike nature of the original Twin Peaks. The same is true for the new series. The eagerly awaited revival of Mark Frost and David Lynch’s revolutionary television series Twin Peaks is here, and with it, a new soundtrack. Music has always played a central role in Lynch’s work and it helped establish the haunting, dreamlike nature of the original Twin Peaks.
Sound plays an undeniably crucial role in David Lynch’s Twin Peaks: The Return. It’s kind of his thing. Going back as far as 1977, which saw the release of Lynch’s first feature, Eraserhead, you can see the careful way he used what would become his signature creeping atmospheric hum, sizzle, and hiss to build a mood that would be terrifying regardless of what’s going on in the shot.
